ABOUT

Some say, a game fanatic who can’t solve engineering problems would not possibly be a great musician.

Say my life was a game. Guess I'm here to play.

Ironically, Hao once almost gave up the possibility of being a musician.

Just like most of the kids who started learning music since a very young age, Hao stopped playing around the age of 13. He started his life pursuing down the road of being a successful mechanical engineer. What he did not expect is that all the music he listened to and all that music he played rooted deep down the bottom of his heart. Finally, during his senior year of college, he thought to himself, ‘I want to be a musician!’, and so he invested in a piano. After two and a half months of practice, not only that he recovered most of his piano skills, also he managed to pass the audition for University of Colorado Boulder College of Music.

What’s even more ironic? The turning point of Hao's career decision came from his experience of playing as a professional video gamer. As a big game fanatic, dedicating for video game industry of any sort was once he’s secondary career choice. The way of practicing piano music brought him the idea of practicing video gaming. During his sophomore year, he was picked by the Monte Anderson, the ex-president of CU Gaming Club, to play and cast for his game club under the game CS:GO. Two years of professional gaming experience completely changed his life. He came to the realize that music, as a hobby for a long time, could just be the perfect thing to dedicate his whole life to.

Aiming to develop as a versatile musician, Hao majors in classical piano performance, but he also started learning jazz piano once he kicked off his journey as a music student. Being able to play guitar and bamboo flutes, his ambition is still yet being fulfilled. Right now, he is not only striving to be a great pianist, but also on his road to be a professional producer.
